How Being an Image Consultant Adds Value to Fashion Design

Image consulting and fashion design go hand in hand with each other. These two industries can learn so much from each other and benefits customers enormously.

Chereen Higham chose this topic as she felt very connected to it, after studying to become an image coach Chereen realised how little of our clothing is actually designed with real people in mind. Having studied fashion design first, and then designing for individuals she discovered how much she needed to learn about individual body shapes and wasn’t taught that in college.

1- You will discover nothing is designed to fit everyone.
2- Insights into designing clothing for real body shapes
3- Why you should consider the many style personalities within each new season’s fashion.

Introducing Chereen Higham

chereen Higham Image IlluminanceI am Chereen of Image Illuminance; an Image Coach and qualified Fashion Designer. As an Image Coach, my purpose is to guide you along your own journey of self-discovery. To find an image you can be proud of, a look that is not just make-up and clothing, but rather a confident holistic image.I have undertaken an exciting journey of self- discovery and appreciation, which I would like to share with you.

I am a wife and a mom of two boys.

Before becoming a mother I was a fashion designer running my own clothing label for 12 years specialising in custom-made garments for individual clients. Once I became a mom, I experienced a loss of self and felt the angst of not knowing who I was anymore. I experienced the constant tug of war between gratefulness and frustration. I have watched my body change, my face begin to age, my priorities shift and felt completely lost at times.

This was the start of my journey, the point at which I made a decision to invest in myself. One key learning was that your confidence doesn’t come from others, but from within; inextricably linked to how you see yourself and how you feel about yourself. This is not shallow and frivolous; to the contrary learning to love yourself and your uniqueness is both necessary and authentic.
