Start With Length: Your Body’s Architecture Matters
A necklace can lift your outfit, frame your face, and balance your proportions. But the magic only happens when the length is right. Here’s the quick guide I’ve used with clients for years:
Long neck? Embrace chokers—they highlight your elegance beautifully.
Short neck? Choose lengths that sit at the base of your neck to elongate and flatter.
Long legs? You can play with every length under the sun, including this season’s gorgeous rope styles (45–60cm).
Long torso + short legs? Keep necklaces above the bustline to create vertical lift.
Large bust? Choose lengths that don’t fall into your cleavage—they tend to swing, tangle, or lasso a boob at the worst possible moment.
Small bust + long legs? Lucky you—almost anything works.
The Sweet Spot: Your Face Holds the Secret
We talk about balance constantly in image consulting because when your features and accessories harmonise, everything looks effortless. Necklace placement is no exception. To find your "sweet spots," use your face as the measurement tool.
Measure the length of your face from your hairline to your chin.
Sweet Spot 1: Measure cheeks to chin and repeat from top of shoulder . This usually lands just above your bustline.
Sweet Spot 2: Measure one full face length from your chin. This typically sits directly on the bustline.
These two points are where necklaces naturally enhance your proportions and draw attention upward. Once you know your sweet spots, you’ll finally understand why something looks divine on your best friend but strangely “off” on you. It isn’t you—it’s the placement.
