Work Intentionally

What do I mean by WORK INTENTIONALLY?

Often, we are so busy that we blur through our day believing we are doing what’s best for our business only to find at the end of the day we’ve achieved little.

Working Intentionally means making and taking time to stop, reflect and plan your day and it’s proven to significantly improve the effectiveness of each day.

It involves 4 steps:

  1. Start the day on a good note: 
    How you feel in the morning affects how you feel for the rest of the day. This could be taking the time to savor a good coffee or taking a morning walk.

  2. Set yourself IN WRITING a few main tasks for the day: 
    This should be no more than 3 or 4 things. They should be tasks that will tangibly add to your business success. Like goals, they need to be written down. Do the tasks, before anything else AND do the thing you like least, first.

  3. Make progress and acknowledge it:
    Cross each thing done off your list and at the end of the day, go back and look at your list and acknowledge that you made progress.

  4. End your workday with a gratitude pause:
    We are conditioned by evolution to seek out what’s wrong in our world and focus on it.

The good news is, you can train your brain to better remember the positive things.

The best way to do this is to create a gratitude pause habit by connecting it to something you already do. For example, make a ritual of thinking of the progress you make and something good that happened during the day before you turn off your computer.
